Kids & Youth
We have a growing and flourishing Sunday Kids' Church, as well as midweek groups, opportunities in the local primary and secondary school and holiday clubs and fun days.
Kids’ Church and Creche
We want to make sure that your children are safe while they are in our care.
All of the volunteers who serve in our Children and Youth teams are in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme operated by Disclosure Scotland.
Creche
There is a great creche that provides excellent care and great fun for babies and toddlers leaving the parents to enjoy the service.
For safeguarding reasons we ask parents and carers to register their child(ren) at the start of the session.
Please make the group leaders aware of any allergy information or special needs your children may have.
If you want to stay with your child while they settle that’s fine, please let one of the leaders know.
The sermon video is also streamed live into the creche meaning that no on misses out.
Kids Church
We have an increasing number of children at Bruntsfield. It has been so exciting to see our Sunday School developing The children are in the service for the first 25 minutes joining in the corporate worship of the church. Also during this time there is a children's talk which is usually connected to what the children will be learning about in their Sunday School classes.
During the service the service leader will invite the children to leave at which point they exit out of the front doors and go to their different classes.
Lessons are taught through a variety of stories, games, crafts, songs and dramas. All the children do the same lesson every week though it is accessibly pitched at the different levels.
At the end of their classes everyone meets in the upstairs hall for altogether time where there is a recap of the days story and a chance to sing together.
We would love to see your children at Kids' Church.
The Field - preschool 3-5 years old - Jesus speaks so often of sharing the gospel like scattering seed in a field. We believe even at this young age teaching children about Jesus is fruitful and worthwhile.
The Harbour - primary 1-3 - Jesus told his disciples that He would make them fishers of men. He also spent a lot of time in and around boats during his time in Galilee, therefore the harbour seemed like a great name for these young children setting sail on their journey to learn about Jesus.
The Track - primary 4-7 - One of the apostle Paul's favourite metaphors for the Christian life was that of an athlete, training for and running in a race. This is exactly what we pray this class will be used for in the lives of these children. That they will join Jesus' team and run all of their lives with perseverance keeping their eyes fixed firmly on him.

Embassy Group
In 2 Corinthians 5:20, Paul tells the believers in Corinth that they are ambassadors of Christ. That they are to conduct themselves in a manner worthy of the gospel and people through whom God makes the appeal to be reconciled to Himself.
The Embassy is a group that happens during our Morning Service where young people from P7 upwards get together to study the Bible and discuss life together. They will either be following the same theme as the adults are hearing about in the All Age Service or discussing how the gospel applies to different areas of life. Normally The Embassy leaves the service just before the sermon.
On some weeks The Embassy do 'appchat', where they listen to the sermon, note down key points and discuss it at the end.
