What is Easter all about?
“I am an historian, I am not a believer, but I must confess as a historian that this penniless preacher from Nazareth is irrevocably the very centre of history." (G.K. Wells, A Short History of the World)
Jesus Christ stands unrivalled at the very centre of the world's story. No person ever made the claims that he made. No other person did the things that he did. No other person verifiably rose from the dead after such a brutal crucifixion. Have you considered what it all means?
Easter brings a message of forgiveness, life, hope, joy and peace. God so loved mankind that he sent his one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to die in our place for our sin. Through trusting Jesus we can be gifted eternal life because of the one who died for us and rose again.
This Easter will you take the time to investigate this man who is the only source of life in a world destined to die?
“For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.” (John 6:40)
Easter devotional series
Throughout Holy Week we will be posting a series of Bible devotions to help us reflect on Jesus’ victory over death (1Cor 15:55) and what it means for us.
