Despite the difficulties this year has thrown up around restrictions, the care van has continued to operate, albeit under different guidelines and Bruntsfield has maintained its support by providing volunteers from a team working on a rota basis one Wednesday evening each month. The volunteer team has had to reduce in number each month to comply with changing operating guidelines but it has been so important to maintain this crucial service, which not only supplies food and clothing, but can also provide an access point to different services offered by organisations like Bethany Christian Trust and Edinburgh City Mission to individuals in need.

What can the church do to pray for the ongoing work of the care van? Continue to pray for the service users that rely on the provision of the care van that their physical needs in terms of food, clothing and shelter will be provided through the ongoing work of Bethany and Edinburgh City Mission. Pray that the work of the care van continues through 2021 across all the volunteer churches and that there is no shortage of individual volunteers. Pray that over the coming year there will be opportunities available for others within the church to step forward and help with this ministry.
